Mrs. Kelly’s class attended a very enjoyable and educational biodiversity workshop entitled “Nuts about Nature” in Killaloe Library on 23rd October.
The workshop was presented by Yvonne and Eileen from The Rediscovery Centre.
The Rediscovery Centre aims to bring together the skills and expertise of scientists, designers, business managers and craftspeople united in a common purpose of sustainability through resource efficiency and life cycle design.
Ideas explored during the workshop were biodiversity, animal habitats, animal camouflage and food chains.
The children got to decorate and paint bird-feeders made from old milk cartons. They brought them back to school, filled them with nuts and hung them on trees in our school garden. They hope to observe many visitors to their recycled feeders over the coming months.
