As part of our green schools program this year we have been discussing our previous flags with the Green schools committee. We have the Litter and Waste flag, the Energy flag, the Water flag and now the Travel flag. We need to maintain work on previous flags as we move on to working on our new flag which will be Biodiversity. We recycle in school and do litter picks and Spring cleans in our community. For the Energy flag we turn off lights and don’t leave electrical devices on stand by. We try to save water with our push button taps. We looked at how we could recycle more. We discussed the campaign to recycle smaller electrical goods, like old phones, hand held devices and hair straighteners. We wanted to put more emphasis on recycling Batteries so we did a campaign to recycle Batteries for Barretstown.
