Sinéad taught us about native trees to Ireland. She brought in leaves and seeds and had us identify the different trees by their branches, seeds or leaves. We used magnified glasses and found some bugs. That was fun! We drew the leaves and trees and wrote about them. We have many of these native trees on our school grounds thanks to the previous planting of a native hedgerow by our green schools team. We have mature trees in the pitch. We are quite lucky with where our school is situated.
