The Green schools committee coordinated and organised the school Spring clean day. We emailed the Clare County council and they sent us bags. We had gloves for those who required them and divided the litter pickers between classes. 5th and 6th did the surrounding roads, up Ardnataggle and Cappakea road. 3rd and 4th class litter picked around the village. They found the village so clean. Well done to the Bridgetown Tidy towns! 1st and 2nd class did the pitch. They found a lot of water bottles and litter from people who use the pitch for sport. The Green schools committee agree that some action will have to be taken to encourage these groups to take litter home. The Junior and Senior Infants litter picked in the school grounds and were glad to find that the school children who litter pick and the school children in general are not litter bugs as there was very little litter around the school.
